after a long longgggg break from blogging.. @ 7:32 AM

Salam everyone.
I'm very sorry for the lack of updates. The last post I made was more than a year ago. O:)

hehe..k, as a reconciliation, I just want to update about the things I've been doing since I came back to London (if I can remember..hehehehehe). I'm just gonna summarise it mostly in pictures.

ooh ooh..Meet my housemates. :) Huda and Zakiyyah (or Imah)

Hmm..how can I describe about them..?
Huda is the dancer, choreographer, 'Monica of Friends'..hehe
Imah is the active netballer, goofy, 'Phoebe of Friends'..:P hahha..(majal aku ah pasal Friends)
ooh..they're both very very smart and rajin and verrrryyyy organized. Oh..how i feel so small next to them. :) But Alhamdulillah....I'm learning so much from them.

--------Raya on the Thames [17 Oct 2009]

BSUnion held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri event on the Dixie Queen vessel (funny name, i know) which then cruise along the River Thames. Siuk...someone got a bit seasick! HAHAHAHAHA..for a last minute preparation, I think the event was ok. Next time tani buat event going around Kampong Ayer lah. hehe :D

-------Hari Raya Open 'Seymour' House [11 Oct 2009]

For our open house, the girls were sweet enough to let me pick the house color theme. PINK OF COURSE!! :)

Anyway, please note, if aku makin lampuh, it's my housemates' fault. They always feed me with lots of goodies. :D

-------Halloween [31 Oct 2009]
The girls at Queensway (bisdorang Fitri, Didi and gang) invited us all over for a mini Halloween party. Meriah lahh - main games, liat TV, carving up pumpkins. Hehe. Just look at the pictures.

-------Lost in London Treasure Trail [21 Nov 2009]
BrUCL organized a treasure hunt around London and our task was to find the clues and do all the tasks at the checkpoints given. IT WAS A FULL DAY EXERCISE. haha..in short, it was really tiring but sooooo worth it. Coz it was really really really FUN FUN FUN :)

We Seymour girls decided to host the Hari Raya AidilAdha. Inda pulang ada kami menyembelih kerbau apa. Just doa and enjoying each others' company. :)

-------Winter Games 2010 - Netball & Football [19 Dec 2009]

Meet m&m's (shorten from Mix and Match). AHAHAHAHA..that's our name cos kami org yg lebih2 yg nada team. Even Azzah main. :D Jauh kami import ah..dari Brunei bah.

Team photo. Dibah missing from photo. Menipu ne gambar ah. HAHAHA. Look at my bib. I actually played centre for only one half of a match throughout the whole event.

This is my usual bib (masa ne). HAHAHAHAHAHA. I have no idea how that happened.

We didn't get through preliminary, but Dee and Kianna (together with Lufbru Shuffle) got third place. Yeay! At least ada wakil Hakunas manang sthing. Hehe..Congratz girls!

-------My winter break [Dec - Jan 2010]
Ok..let's just summarise my Winterbreak. A lot of things happened.

Brother, sister, Bilah (bro's gf), Farizan came to UK. Lots of people were in London.

Unusual winter snow in London, i.e. IT USUALLY DOESN'T SNOW IN LONDON IN DECEMBER FOR THE LAST FEW DECADES (according to some people).

Had a surprise advanced birthday cake from the housemates.

Spent christmas with these cwazy people. Ngalih melayan adikku yg talkative. Spent my birthday at Tinseltown with them cwazies, including my bro and sis. Most of the pictures of our 'activities' were in my iPhone, which got erased. :(

-------Sleepover [22 Jan 2010]
Slumber party. GIRLS NIGHT IN. :D The Queensway girls (and Farhana) came over for a sleepover. Baked cupcakes. Played boardgames. They banned me from boggle. :( and...and...girl talk!? LOL

-------UCLU Intersocieties 5-a-side Football [29 Jan 2010]

Sebenarnya for this footie match, both guys and girls dapat main. (Jangantah harap the girls kan main). hahaha. Anyway, if i remember clearly, BrUCL was in the same group with S'pore society, ISOC (Islamic society) and the Spanish&Latin American society. Tough group. But nonetheless, BrUCL had the awesome-est crowd. Hehe. Kami yg paling bising wah. :D

-------Kem Ibadah 2010 [12 - 14 Feb 2010]

Dang Diyah already touched on this. :) Alhamdulillah, I learnt A LOT. When I say a lot, I meant A LOT!! haha..majal. Lain kali lah I post some of the things that I have learnt. It's best to share it with everyone. I don't want to post the same pics as Lifah. I'll try to find yg lain. hehe..

-------Frank Mortons [18 Feb 2010]

"Siapa lagi Frank Mortons ani??" I dont know, but I'm guessing it's a famous chemical engineer!? hahahaha.

Anyway, Frank Mortons is an inter-university chemical engineering department sports day. Zizi and I joined the UCL netball team. The rest of the boys inda mau ikut. Pasal masa atu dorang alum handal netball. HAHAHAHAHAH. Masa ne handal dah. :P

This year it was held at Birmingham university. Giler..we had to leave London by coach at 5am in the morning. Kusut jua tu pagi2. HAHAHAHAHA. Anyway,I'm still waiting for pictures from our friend. But I only have one photo from the event. And to show u this photo, u have to know this story first.

Us UCL-ians were the underdog of the event. So we decided to just make the best out of the event. Just have fun. Prolly make fools of ourselves. :) So one of the PhD guys decided to draw on our faces using these facepaint markers given to us on that day. HAHAHAHHAHHA

-------Leeds University's MNight [27 Feb 2010]

Azizi and I went up to Leeds to catch our friend, Syazwina, perform for her MNight titled 'Mahsuri', which originated from Langkawi. It's about this woman who was unfairly accused of adultery and then later executed. Awda boleh google tentang kisah tersebut. HAHAHAHA.

Anyway..Syazwina was playing the evil stepmother of Mahsuri. Look at her make-up. Usulnya macam evil banar wah. :P hehe

(Note: i wasn't trying to be 'control'. I was actually trying to look evil, but FAILED! hahaha)

We also got to meet with Awang Sepol and Awang Api. and sebelah saya itu Awang Mijan, teman BSP. LOL

-------Taste of Brunei [3 Mar 2010]

Again, BrUCL society organized this event. Siuk and nyaman :) Kanyang banar at the end of the day. Hehe..they gave us a demo on how to make and also provided us with this menu:

hahaha..delay sikit celebrate bday. Aww..we didn't get a chance to take a picture of your present. Basically, kami serumah bagi ia balloons and a tabung to save duit (utk lanja Hakunas nanti). *hint* hehe. Happy 21st, bugis.

ICUBS performed a play titled 'Kasih Ibu'. It was good. Sampai buat aku menangis jua the play. :) hehe..anyway, didn't do anything much. Just did the traditional dance and helped with backstage saja. :D Zizi and Naq were also involved. *looking through youtube and facebook, trying to find videos*. hehehe

Naq!!! I can't find your video on youtube. Zi, your bollywood dance jua I cant find :( And saya tak pandai masukkan video dari facebook to here. Well, you all can watch their video on facebook. hehehe. But here are pictures of us. I want to put in a lot of pictures, yg ada drg Awie and Farhan and Iqbal, etc etc. But I'll prolly end up copying the whole of Awie's album. :S

BrUCL had its 2nd AGM, where we elect for next year's committee. So the results are: *drumroll*

-------BDSSW National Day - Seri Brunei [13 March]
BDSSW stands for 'Brunei Darussalam Students Society of Wales'. They held their annual National Day celebration at University Wales Institute of Cardiff. So basically, I went to Cardiff. LOL.

Their play was to educate and remind people of the events in a Malay wedding. They literally made it like a real wedding. The cast actually called the Guest of Honour onstage masa berbedak. During the 'Bersanding', the groom actually went off stage and then start salam the crowd (or a.k.a. the guests). HAHAHAHAHA. Cali lah.

I also got to see dorang Qaira dance the traditional dance. Siuk wah dorang..ramai and really festive. And also as a closing ceremony, guest performers, Awang Aki and Awang Nasrul, performed lagu Home.

After the event, a friend of Huda's, Shai, was really kind to bring us around Cardiff, despite the fact that we only have less than 3 hours left before our train leaves. HAHAHA. We managed to go to Cardiff bay, the town and the castle. Here are pictures.

-------Bruneian Postgraduate Symposium [20 Mar 2010]

The Bruneian Postgraduate Society organized this symposium in order to motivate and also strengthen the bond between students, academics, researchers and also those who work already. The theme for this year's symposeum is about sustainability and growth. Alhamdulillah this event reminded me that there's still so much we have to offer to improve Brunei, in whatever field we're doing.

oohh..there was this one speaker, Hjh Sorianasalwa Hj Mornie, who presented her speech titled 'Realizing change: promoting National Identity through language securities'. She was talking about how we should promote our local language or novels to the world. If people can learn all about Shakespeare and the beauty of English literature, others can also learn and see the beauty of malay literature. She was also talking about Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka and about this writer, Muslim Burmat' and his book 'Lari Bersama Musim'. She told us that recently a university in the US has this book in their library under the Asian literature :) Wahhhh..cool ah. All the way in US.

Anyway, the reason why I brought this up is because terus ku teringat Farah's book. :) My prayers to you Farah, that hopefully you will be one of the local talents that will help grow our country in terms of literature. It's just a dream away..hehe. Amin amin amin ya rabbal alamin We all will play a part in building our country. (I know I sound really patriotic right now, but just bear with me..hehe).
